Vision Trips

Have you ever wanted to visit Haiti? Would you like to see what we do at Clean Water for Haiti in person? If your answer is “Yes!” to either of those questions, then you need to join us on a Vision Trip.

Vision Trips are a one week visit to our mission base in Camp Marie, in the St. Marc region of Haiti, where you’ll have the opportunity to learn all about what we do every day. From start to finish, you’ll learn the whole process of building a biosand filter. You’ll also have the opportunity to join our staff on a delivery or repair day where you’ll meet some of the families receiving their filters, and see first hand why the work we do is so important.

Due to COVID-19 travel restrictions in Haiti, the US and Canada, and a desire to keep our staff and the people we serve safe, Vision Trips have been canceled until further notice. As vaccinations increase around the globe we are optimistic that we’ll once again be able to host visitors in the fall of 2021. Travel Information

All visitors are responsible for planning their own air travel in and out of Haiti, with guidance about preferred flight times from our staff. All in country travel will be coordinated by Clean Water for Haiti staff and covered by the Vision Trip fees.

Fees

The fee for each visitor is $500 US for the week. This fee covers all in country travel, accommodation, and food. $100 of the fee is also designated to the full cost of a biosand filter, which you will see delivered and installed in a home during your visit. There is a $25 non-refundable deposit due at registration, with the balance of your fees paid no later than one month before arrival in Haiti. All fees will be processed in US dollars through our US branch.

Accommodation & Food

Visitors stay in our comfortable on site guest house. All guest rooms have screens and fans, and there are North American style bathrooms and showers. Meals will be done family style with our in-country directors and other resident staff. We aim to provide healthy, well-balanced meals for our guests and try to provide opportunities to try different kinds of Haitian food through the week. Any special dietary needs can be noted on the registration form so we can plan accordingly.

Groups & Age Requirements

We cap each Vision Trip at 6 people. If you have a full group of 6 but the set dates are not able to accommodate your group we will try to see if there’s another week that may be available on our calendar. Priority will be given to filling up scheduled weeks. All Vision Trip guests must be 18 years or older at the time of their visit.

To register for one of our Vision Trips just click on the button with your preferred date. You will be taken to a registration page and guided through the process. All fees will be processed in USD by our US office through SalsaLabs on a secure server apart from CWH’s website.

After you submit your registration information and payment of the $25 registration fee, you will receive a confirmation email. Shortly after that you’ll receive the first in a series of emails that will help you prepare for your visit, and give you access to our Vision Trip Resources page.
